Chippenham Olympics

A BIG thank you to Darren Hughes, and to all who worked with him to
put on the Chippenham Olympics on 29 April.
A superb occasion, setting the bar very high for the London
Olympics.  A highlight of the day was
seeing so many proudly wearing their rosettes! Showing that healthy competition
is alive and well in Chippenham.

Thank you also to the four team captains, Tom McGrath for New Street
and Badlingham, Lucy Martin and Sue Blazey for the Park side of the High St,
James Hurst for the church side of the High St, and Jon van de Peer for
Scotland End.  The overall competition
was won by the RED team, congratulations to Sue and Lucy.

Thank you too to the individual event organisers who ensured that each
competition ran smoothly, Linda Porter-Cohen for donating the trophy and Terry
Cross for donating the scoreboard and to all the other people who helped on the
day and made this a very special village occasion.
