Balfour Beatty is carrying out a project on behalf of Cambridgeshire County Council to replace all the existing street lights in the county. They plan to start work in Chippenham in March 2015.
Existing posts and lamps will be replaced with new models which are more efficient and economical to run. Four lights in total will be removed from New Street and Tharp Way. No lights will be removed from the High Street because it is a traffic route. White paint on the pavement near the existing lights shows their new location. Lights that are being removed have a sign on them to indicate that they will not be replaced.
The Parish Council and Balfour Beatty are holding a Residents Meeting to allow all residents to understand the project and put forward their questions and concerns. The meeting will be held in the village hall on Tuesday 3rd February at 6pm. If you have a concern or question but are unable to make the meeting please email firstname.lastname@example.org and the council will put your question to the contractors on your behalf.
