Recycling Grant Successful

East Cambridgeshire District Council has announced that its £5 million grant application to Central Government to improve recycling services has been successful.  The funding will enable a change to wheeled bin services for both recycling and organics (food & garden waste) collections, and expansion of the range of materials collected

Jubilee Waste Collections

Due to the bank holiday for the Jubilee, there will be changes to the normal waste and recycling collections. Instead of the collection on Wednesday 6th June, there will be a collection on Thursday 7th June.

Removal of Can Banks

Due to the withdrawal of the can recycling service by the previous contractor and the on-going cost to the Council it has been decided to temporarily remove the can banks service from the Recycling Centres in the District and therefore the banks will be removed from all recycling centre sites

Village Can Bank

The contractor that previously emptied the banks (Pearsons) was taken over in November last year by Viridor who have looked at the cost to run the service and have decided to stop providing it, at present they are giving an end date of May however this is not yet confirmed.
