Play Areas

Chippenham has two play areas.  The first is just off New Street/Tharp Way and has a selection of traditional play equipment and a zip wire.  The second is along the allotment track, just off New Street.  This area has a small bike track, outdoor fitness equipment, a basketball hoop and and football nets.

CHIPPENHAM U12 PLAY PARK – COVID GUIDELINES

This is an unsupervised play area.  Users, parents and carers are responsible for their own hand hygiene before, during and after using the facility. Anyone using this playground should take particular care to wash their hands after use and avoid touching their face.  Children should be supervised carefully to maintain good hygiene and social distancing.  The play area should not be used if any member of your group has any signs or symptoms of COVID19.
Please abide by the following guidelines:
  • Use hand sanitiser before and after using the equipment
  • Feel free to wipe down handles and surfaces with wet wipes/sanitiser if you have them
  • Only members of the same family/bubble to use individual pieces of equipment at the same time
  • Please wait at a safe distance to use a piece of equipment if it is busy
  • Please observe social distancing
  • Please dispose of all rubbish in the bin provided or take it home
  • No food or drink to be consumed in the play area

The council reserves the right to close the play area if it is found that it is not being used in line with the guidelines.
